Bordeaux has been the premiere growing region for the worlds favorite grape variety, Cabernet Sauvignon ( as well as others like Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec) for hundreds of years. So do the best reds in the world come from here? There was this little event called the Judgement of Paris that would prove otherwise. Lets give credit where credit is due though, it all started in Bordeaux. The world has borrowed their grapes, techniques, vineyard practices just to emulate the kingly red wines coming from Bordeaux.
